Mermaid masterpieces planned a fun summer with paint parties and a scavenger hunt around Newport. The team has been hosting painting parties for all ages since 2015. Instructor Becky Killian, a self-taught artist, provides step-by-step painting instructions and helps individuals find their inner artist. Now, Killian has expanded his business even further with an array of events this summer, including a new scavenger hunt that explores the city by the sea.
For scavenger hunts, Killian guides guests through a two-hour adventure, visiting local hot spots, learning about Newport’s history, and even finding some of the city’s hidden gems. All participants will receive a gift bag filled with goodies to help them navigate the hunt. This activity is perfect for any occasion, like a birthday party, team building event, or a family reunion.
“If you’re a longtime local or just in town for a few days, this is a fun way to rediscover Newport,†says Killian.
Mermaid Masterpieces will also be hosting in-person painting parties and private party bookings this summer. Outdoor painting parties are held in locations all around Rhode Island. These events are aimed at children, but adults are welcome to enjoy a glass of wine while the children create works of art. It is also possible to book a private event for friends, families, schools, libraries, churches or corporate events.
Bring your inner artists to life and get another perk… free ice cream. If you book a party with Mermaid Masterpieces or attend a public event, you will receive a Frosted gel good ice cream. While you are enjoying your delicious treat, you may notice a beach themed mural. This mural was created by Killian and now lives in Frosted gel, in Middletown. If you take a photo in front of the mural and tag the mermaid masterpieces on social media, you have a chance to win an ice cream paint party for ten.
