• Diageo has announced the release of Old Parr Aged 18 Years, the latest permanent addition to the blended Scotch brand. The whisky, which makes its first appearance in the United States, is bottled at 40% vol and made from malts from Cragganmore, among other whiskeys from Islay and Speyside. • The Hercules Mulligan Rum & Rye brand of pre-mixed cocktails is launched in the New York market, with other states to be added soon. Hercules Mulligan is a 50/50 blend of aged Caribbean rum and American rye whiskey. Organic ginger root is macerated in the rum and rye mixture, and a touch of bitters is added, the cocktail being suggested to be served over ice. Originally, Hercules Mulligan was launched exclusively on Flaviar and is now expanding into a wider market. The cocktail is bottled at 43% abv and sells for $38 per 750ml.

• Miami-based importer Surville Enterprises, a subsidiary of Barton & Guestier France, has been renamed BGPL USA. The new name represents the three wine houses the company imports and distributes: Barton & Guestier, Patriarche and Listel, all of which are part of French beverage giant Castel. The newly renamed company also expanded its distribution relationship with Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits in California, making SGWS the distributor for all Veuve du Vernay wines in the state, which are produced by Patriarche.
