Sotheby’s is presenting a selection of intact vintage wines directly from the vineyards of Chanel at an upcoming auction.
The sale, which is set to celebrate Chanel’s 25 years of ownership of the historic Rauzan-Ségla and Canon in the Bordeaux wine region, would include over 900 lots and feature a range of sixty rare vintages with a combined estimate of £ 730,000.
According to reports in Vino-joy, the vintages range from 1917 to 2020, delivered in different sizes from the standard bottle to the Melchior (18 liters). The wines will open for auction on October 15 and will end with a live auction on October 29 in London.
One of the selections features pre-war vintages including three bottles of Château Canon 1926 estimated at £ 950- £ 1400 and three Magnums from the 1933 vintage.
The most expensive wine is a rare bespoke 2020 Chateau Canon barrel valued at between £ 24,000 and £ 32,000 by Sotheby’s.

The French estates Rauzan-Ségla and the Canon castles are located between Margaux and Saint-Émilion, with over 100 years of wine history on the banks of the Gironde estuary. The auction will mark the first time that the wines will be classified Grand Cru and Premier Cru in this generation.
