LEHIGH VALLEY, Pennsylvania – September 29, 2022 – The five locally owned and operated wineries of the Lehigh Valley Wine Route will be showcasing wines made from the Chambourcin grape during Chambourcin Weekend on Saturday October 8th and Sunday October 9th.

The hours of the event are Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Each winery will offer its own activities, special offers and promotions (see below for details). The event is free, but wineries charge a fee for a standard wine tasting.

Chambourcin is the only grape variety grown by all LVWT wineries. In the great Lehigh Valley there are over 40 acres of Chambourcin fermenting into approximately 150,000 bottles of wine. Chambourcin is very versatile in the wine cellar and wineries make it into several styles of wine.

Black River Farms, Bethlehem – Visitors can enjoy a free flight of all three versions of its 2018 Chambourcin – crafted in American oak, French oak and Slovenian oak. All glasses and bottles of Chambourcin are purchased one in one free. On Saturday, food from the party catering will be available for purchase from noon to 5 p.m., with live music by The Acoustic Keys from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

On Sundays, party catering returns from noon to 5 p.m., with live music from Ed McKendry from 2 to 4 p.m.

The winery will also host a fall photo shoot with furry friends by Melissa Hummel Photography. Mini-sessions cost $125, last 20 minutes, and include two high-resolution downloads and a private online image gallery. The photographer will donate $25 per session to The Sanctuary at Haafsville.

Blue Mountain Vineyards, New Tripoli – The estate will showcase a brownie infused with its Victoria’s Passion semi-sweet Chambourcin wine via a plastic infuser inserted into the brownie. They will also have a brownie parfait with Victoria’s Passion infused mousse for purchase.

Franklin Hill Vineyards, Bangor – The winery will offer live entertainment from 1-4pm on Saturday and will offer its new menu of fall dishes and sangria flights, as well as craft cocktails made with Social Still spirits.

Tolino Vineyards, Bangor – On Saturdays, the winery will have live music by George Baier from 1-4 p.m. and the Kitchen Outlawz food truck will be on site from noon-5 p.m. On Sundays, live music by Andy Tirado is presented from 1 to 4 p.m. Chambourcin cake batter truffles made with their wine by Triple M Treats will be available for purchase all weekend. The winery will also offer an autumn sangria by the glass.
