STATEN ISLAND, NY – The Forest Avenue Business Improvement District (BID) Board of Directors has agreed a date for the Forest Avenue walk. The free family event is scheduled for Sunday October 3.

Rain or shine, the Stroll aims to showcase West Brighton businesses between Broadway and Hart Boulevard. Music, select restaurant samples and retail sales are scheduled for the afternoon.

“This is another activity during the pandemic to remind people to patronize their local businesses,” said Priscilla Marco, BID board member.

In the meantime, fall brings the spirit of the season to the strip. Pastosa of West Brighton is bursting with butternuts and hearty pasta.

Beans ‘n’ Leaves offers a pumpkin spice candle for sale to accompany coffee infusions such as pumpkin crème brûlée and maple nut fudge, served hot or over ice. Also on a caffeinated note, neighborhood markets like Silver Lake Bagels and Key Food sell the annual fall beer collaboration of Beans ‘n’ Leaves, a business with Flagship Brewing Co. that has resulted in a popular Pumpkin Spice Latte Ale. .

The recent expansion of Panini Grill will be on display for the ride with its festive decorations for the season. On Sunday, brunch at the local restaurant takes place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Owner Peter Macri suggests his prix fixe menu at $ 23 would be a great way to check out other finds along Forest Avenue. From now on, Panini specialties include Pumpkin Ravioli, Butternut Squash Chicken, and Pumpkin Pie Martini.

At Kettle Black, Tommy Casatelli will have a Blue Point Mother Pumpkin Ale on tap served with a cinnamon sugar rim. The fall specials will officially kick off on October 1, just in time for the holidays.

Other points of interest for dining open on Sundays along the Forest Avenue corridor are plentiful – Pronto Pizza, Duffy’s, Cafe Milano, the relatively new Northside Coffee Shop, Planet Wings, SoBol Acai Bowls and more, ViVi Bubble Tea, Five Guys Sushi, Jody’s Club Forest, Baya Bar, Fiorito’s Italian specialty store, Santino’s Italian market, Jean’s Fine Wines, Diamond Forest, Green Garden and Emperor House. Additionally, Burrito Bar, Ho’Brah, Kettle Black, and Sally’s Southern offer outdoor dining areas.
