BOSTON, August 9, 2021 / PRNewswire / – Martha’s Vineyard is New England’s most expensive summer destination based on the cost of accommodation, according to a survey by Cheaphotels.org.

The survey compared 30 popular destinations in New England based on the cheapest double room rate in August. Only hotels or inns classified at least 3 stars and located near the beach or the city center have been taken into account.

Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket, of them Massachusetts islands south of Cape Cod, are at the top of the ranking with average rates of $ 474 and $ 421, respectively. The podium is completed by Bar Habor, Maine at a rate of $ 376 by night.

Boston ranks at an average of only $ 151 per night among the most affordable destinations. The cheapest overall in New England is Hartford, the capital of Connecticut, where you can find a bedroom $ 116 by night.
