Lupo Pizzeria officially opens today at 4pm in the former Taylor Gourmet space which closed in 2018. Before them, it was the longtime home of Ruff n Ready.

“Lupo Pizzeria offers innovative and refined Italian street food that promises to give Washingtonians a taste of Italy that defies the expectations of the kitchen. All of Chef Juan Olivera’s menu is homemade, including all their dough, with ingredients imported directly from Italy. The highlights of the menu such as the “Lupo Marino” (pizza with dashi tomato passata, squid, shrimp, mussels and hand-made squid ink paste), the “Seaweed Frittelle” (fried seaweed fritters savory dashi passata with tomatoes) and even dessert pizzas (like the Tropical Pizza w / coconut cream and grilled pineapple) add a surprising twist to the concept. Lupo Pizzeria also offers an extensive drink program from Beverage Manager Brian Kominsky, consisting of Italian wines, beers, and Italian cocktails with fresh herbs and seasonal ingredients.
