January 7 – In December 2021, the Livermore Valley Winemakers Foundation presented checks totaling $ 195,575 to five local children’s charities at a special check-giving event. Guests gathered at the Wente Vineyards Tasting Lounge to receive the checks and celebrate the success of this year’s Livermore Valley wine auction. The 27e The annual Livermore Valley Wine Auction, a festive outdoor garden party featuring live and silent auctions, took place on September 25, 2021 at Wente Vineyards.

Funding a need for SPARC’s new arts education program for local grade 7 students was particularly successful last year, raising $ 85,575 for this program. Other beneficiaries who received the benefits of last year’s event are CALICO, which brings justice to abused children; Exceptional Needs Network, offering summer camps for children with special needs; QUEST, which offers science education to children in the region; and Reins in Motion, which offers equestrian therapy to children with special needs. All grantees said donations from the Livermore Valley Winegrowers Foundation would have a significant positive impact on their organizations.

The Livermore Valley Winegrowers Foundation is now accepting applications from grantees for the 28e Livermore Valley’s annual wine auction, to be held on Saturday, September 17, 2022. Applicants must be 501 (c) 3 non-profit organizations that provide services to underserved local children. Beneficiary applications must be submitted by January 31, 2022 and more information is available at https://lvwf.org/beneficiaries/.

Thank you to the Livermore Valley winemakers who generously poured out their fine wines at the event and donated excellent wines and exclusive live and silent auction lots for the auction. The Livermore Valley Wine Auction was generously presented by the First Tech Federal Credit Union with Jeff and Doris Hank. Thanks also to Black Tie Transportation, Diablo Magazine, Gallo Glass, Lam Research, Safeway, World Cooperage and all of our generous sponsors and supporters.
