You have heard of the miracle of turning water into wine. Now, with a little help from a few friends, the One Drop Foundation turns wine into water.
One Drop is a charitable organization whose mission is to ensure sustainable access to drinking water, sanitation and hygiene for vulnerable communities around the world. On November 19, the Foundation joins forces with starred chef Alain Ducasse, the founder of Cirque de Soleil and One Drop Guy Laliberté and the French auction house Artcurial to organize an auction on the theme of fine wines and of gastronomy at a charity gala in Paris. One of the lots even has a rock’n’roll angle: a double Magnum from IGT 1530 (an elite Tuscan wine) signed by Sting, Trudie Styler and winemaker Riccardo Cotarella, accompanied by a signed Sting guitar and a unique experience at Domaine Tenuta Il Palagio, offered by Sting.
The initiative, called La Cuvée One Drop, will include two separate auctions of fine wines and spirits. The first is a one-day online sale on November 4, managed by Artcurial. The second, on November 19, is an in-person event for 250 guests to be held at the Pavillon Dauphine in Paris. The gala dinner, presented by Alain Ducasse, will feature silent and live auctions of fine wines, spirits and travel and epicurean experiences. Buyers who cannot attend can bid online and by phone. – A 2015 Richebourg Jeroboam from Domaine Grivot, offered by the Grivot family.
