Following the successful opening of its first fully gluten-free café-bakery in Santa Monica in February 2020, French Provencal bakery Breadblok is expanding into the Eastside of Los Angeles with a brand new restaurant and outlet opening in December.

The opening of Breadblok Silver Lake will mark the start of the company’s planned deployment in Los Angeles, which will also include new locations in Venice and Beverly Hills. The new locations will follow the original Cali-meets-South of France aesthetic celebrating the company’s French roots combined with its California setting.

Breadblok has a rotating seasonal menu of bakery and cooking offerings including gluten-free breads, croissants, tarts, donuts, scones, quiches, salads, sandwiches, organic jams, vegan milks and more. Additionally, each location will have an exclusive menu item that is unique to that neighborhood. The new location will also serve a selection of gluten-free beers as well as wines from Provence, France.

For three generations, the Charlier family embraced gluten-free foods and, understanding the difficulty in finding delicious, high-quality gluten-free baked goods in the United States today, they decided to solve this dilemma with Breadblok.

“We are excited to introduce new locations in the Los Angeles area after the tremendous success we have had with our first cafe and bakery in Santa Monica,” said founders Chloé and Céline Charlier. “The community of Silver Lake has already been very welcoming. We are delighted to continue our mission to provide all of the most delicious gluten free baked goods. “
